Some have said that a picture is worth a thousand words. With that in mind, I give you this:
That’s in Metro Manila by the way. The Filipino people, government, businesses, and etc. have demonstrated a blatant disregard of the environment with no end in sight. With the way garbage is disposed in the country, one wonders how and to what extent unacceptable waste disposal intensifies the death toll of say a Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy, locally).
In George Romero’s superb Dawn of the Dead, there’s a line that goes: “when there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth”. In the case of the Philippines, when there’s no more room for trash, the trash will kill Filipinos. The unfortunate and preventable disregard for the environment leads to a deadlier storm like Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy). Here are a couple of videos that shows how deadly a typhoon can be when mixed with the man made stupidity of many Filipinos:

you are like Hitler, looking down on other race because he thinks Germans are superior, even if he is not one himself.trash disposing in river or somewhere else doesn’t only happen in Philippines,it happens in poor country like Vietnam and India as well there must be some other factors than stupidness.By the most polluted river in the world are to be found in Indonesia called Citarum. The biggest slum in the world is in Kenya,if you are a Filipino, i think you’re comparing Philippines to the western countries that gives you a bad image. IF YOU ARE A RACIST FOREIGNER GO F!!!K YOURSELF WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT MY COUNTRY CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE.THE WAY YOU ACT IT’S OBVIOUS YOU ARE NOT EDUCATED
@anti-racism
isnt it true?, your the one who looks uneducated
“F YOU ARE A RACIST FOREIGNER GO F!!!K YOURSELF WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT MY COUNTRY CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE.THE WAY YOU ACT IT’S OBVIOUS YOU ARE NOT EDUCATED”
How Mature..
isn’t it true that trash and pollution is too much here, what other countries have SMOKEY MOUNTAIN??, typhoons will flood and kill plenty Filipinos, why? ignorance, throwing trash everywhere and lack of discipline.
hey john. if you dont like our trash, just clean it and stop insulitng us.
and what about you? You’re just gonna sit there and order people to clean up the trash of the Philippines not knowing whether John is a Filipino or not? Do you see the problem there? You might be one the reasons why many Filipinos die from storms like Ondoy.

I invite you to read more of my blog entries to find out whether I’m a Filipino or not.
It’s not a race to the bottom to see who can have most polluted river or the biggest slum. The key is marginal improvements
Next time, try not invoke Goodwin’s law on your first post. It’s just a bit too dramatic.
Hitler? I suggest you research everything about him and also WW2. It will enlighten you who and what Hitler was. That’s I guarantee!
funny post for anti-racism although i can’t really see what’s racist about this one. its true that the country is way polluted people disregard the need for waste management and suffer the consequences. i think you’re just being too dramatic defending your race. take it as constructive criticism
Thanks for making that point.
Disclosure: I am an American, living in in Quezon City. I can say from 1st hand observation that the careless attitude of MANY local residents regarding their environment is frankly shocking, short-sighted, and self-destructive. Calling it stupid, while blunt, seems appropriate.
I read no racist remark(s) in this post. On the other hand, I can see why some might be offended by the blunt statement, “Here are a couple of videos that shows how deadly a typhoon can be when mixed with the man made stupidity of many Filipinos:”.
It is said that, often the first step toward accepting an uncomfortable truth about oneself is denial. I suspect that those who are offended may be part of the named group of Filipinos. Lets hope that Filipinos come to grips with the fact that they are largely doing a terrible job of caring for their surroundings.
p.s. @ anti-racism
Do you always expect to be excused for doing something blatantly wrong, simply because others have been or are guilty of the same act(s)?
people spitting on sidewalks, stores setting up stalls on sidewalks, local Jeepneys and other public transports letting out a thick smog of black smoke from their mufflers, cigarette butts all over the place, BLATANT DISRESPECT FOR TRAFFIC RULES, Pedestrians getting off and crossing the streets whenever and wherever they please, Dogs crapping away in the middle of the street without their owners cleaning up after, throwing away garbage in most INAPPROPRIATE PLACES, THE LIST GOES ON! WE COULD DO THIS ALL NIGHT!!!!
Well, that’s just how they are, and they’re proud of it. Always saying “PROUD TO BE PINOY!”
*sigh* Totally feel bad for their poor country. Heard it’s once beautiful, and now look at it. Stupid filthy-pinos doesn’t deserve to have a space to live in! They’ll just corrupt the shit out of it.
Haaayy, sawakas. ‘Kala ko ako lang ang nag-iisip ng ganyan sa mga bwisit kong kababayan e. Sinabi mo pa, ‘tol! Isa pa, kaya ‘di umuunlad ‘Pinas dahil napaka relihiyoso nila, pesteng simbahan nakekelam sa lahat ng bagay. At napaka ignorante nila, napaka sentimental, napaka taas ng ere, at napaka korap nila. *sigh* Grabe nakakalungkot.
These filthy little fuckers… Ughh! Makes me wish for an earthquake to hit that shit-of-a-country and hope for a tsunami to follow! I think these fuckers deserves it.
it’s so disgusting, the filipinos don’t even know how to clean up after themselves IT’S SICK!
well i think that the true problem is that they do not particularly know that it is unhealthy for them. This is something i recently read about people in India. But if we go to these places and show an example and clean up and educate about the the importance of clean surroundings we can help them change. I have been researching this for a while and it seems like the only likely to work option. It has to do with the physiological aspects of the differences in the ways that different countries raise their “children of the future”. I would like to make an organization that people don’t donate money but instead go these type of countries in groups to help out. Time and effort is defiantly more effective and precious than money. The cycle of dirty and poor needs to end and we need to be the ones to do it. I’m just not sure about starting the organization because i don’t know if people would be interested in going and picking up garbage and getting know the peoples of these places. Not to mention the education portion. I would really like it if you guys can give me feedback and just let me know if you think its a good idea and people would be willing to help out.
I have a first hand account of the attitude as I was the one who initated the cleaning of a laundry area in a village on an island in the pinnes. It was a filthy mess and the next day you could not tell we had even picked up one piece of garbage. I was so disgusted by the situation I vowed never again to waste my time in this type of endeavor. I lived in the pinnes for over five years and have witnessed the most deplorable behaviour a man could ever witness. I am Canadian and was raised to accept all people. I have never had a racist bone in my body till I moved to the pinnes. I learned how to had a people so purely that you could feel it and taste it. I hated being like that and thankfully I do not live in that pile of trash anymore. The people will call you gaga which means I wish you all the worst of anything that could possibly happen to you and they don’t even know you and they do it because you are not from there. They hate you because you don’t give them everything in your bank account. It is a country of hatred abuse and opportunistic thievery. It is the island of thieves and much worse. The only way the people would have any hope is if all the kids could be taught to respect and live clean that means the rest would have to disappear and that would never happen. It has no hope because the people are too blind, ignorant and arrogant to accept the fact that they are the problem.
The man is right. No one knows what kind of filth is in the water here. I have seen medical waste on the so called pristine beaches of Boracay, and I have seen tirds in the water at the beach also. This is nothing but filth produced by stupid people in a stupid nation.People here are dumb beyond belief..

That picture is disgusting, amazing, unbelievable. Its just mind boggling. I found this website site researching the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It is just upsetting to see what we are doing to the earths water system. I don’t think I could ever stomach eating seafood ever again. I just wish we can come up with a solution, and fast, before its too late.
three things are sure. Majority of Filipinos can’t accept reality, are over-sensitive and blind.
